Adolescents, Teens & Young Adults

Young people today face many complicated challenges including navigating losses, developing meaningful identities, overcoming insecurities, coping with anxiety and depression, managing academic stress, navigating family stress, developing healthy relationships, and healing from grief or trauma. Our highly skilled therapists understand the critical importance of creating a safe, trusting, and supportive environment where young people can explore themselves and the world of their experiences without fear of judgment. We use a wide range of art, talk, and somatic-based therapy tools to help adolescents, teenagers, and young adults learn skills to safely feel and express their emotions, build confidence, and develop their inherent strengths. We deeply respect the confidentiality of our young clients, but also work collaboratively with parents, schools, and educators to help our clients effectively navigate challenges, to create a plan for healing, and to thrive.

This professionally facilitated educational workshop is designed to help you connect with others who "get it"; while learning and healing together in a  safe community. Through dialogue and reflective exercises we will support you in understanding what to expect while grieving a significant loss, gain insight into your unique grief reactions, identify challenges experienced throughout the grief process,
and to discuss effective and creative healing strategies.

Please note that this is a one-time workshop. At the close of the workshop participants will be given the opportunity to express interest in participating in an ongoing group with others who have experienced similar losses.

Cancer is both physically and emotionally challenging. You need to make sense of all that is happening, but it is not always clear how to best do this. Even with the support of friends or family, some people feel very alone in the cancer experience. Often it is very helpful to join a support group where you can explore all that is happening as you navigate your unique cancer experience. We are proud to collaborate with Penn Medicine’s Chester County Hospital to support women who are currently in treatment for gynecologic cancer.

This group is specifically for cancer patients of Penn Medicine’s Chester County Hospital. If this group applies to you and you are interested in learning more, please contact Nicki Cowan MSW, LSW by phone at 609-525-4841 or email us at
