Terry Sturmer, MSW, LCSW

Terry is one of our trauma experts.  She is a deeply compassionate, intelligent, patient, and creative therapist. She works with adolescents, adults, and families providing clinical assessment, ongoing psychotherapy, group support, and parenting guidance.  She helps individuals and families cope with challenges related to abuse/interpersonal violence histories, adoption, addiction in the family, anxiety, attachment injuries, bi-polar disorder, depression, grief, living losses, peer relationships, physical illness, school related stress, sexuality, and trauma.  To support her clients' growth, Terry combines an effective range of creative clinical interventions; including talk  and body-based therapies, EMDR, guided imagery, IFS and mindfulness meditation.


Terry co-wrote a chapter on healing from living losses for Robert Neimeyer's intervention handbook:  Techniques of Grief Therapy: Assessment and Intervention.  She is a regular speaker on issues of complex organizational dynamics, professional compassion fatigue and treating trauma.
